RHS Chapel CD

RHS Chapel CD "The Music School is delighted to announce the release of its new CD, "A Year at RHS". It features the combined forces of the School's Chapel Choir, Holbrook Choral Society as well as the Chamber Choir. The recordings were made over two days at the end of the Lent Term 2019 in the School's glorious 1930s chapel and represent a snapshot of choral music throughout the liturgical year. Starting with Charles Wood's "O Thou the Central Orb" we move through the year to the Commemoration Service with "Sing!", a magnificent arrangement of Widor's iconic Toccata from his Fifth Organ Symphony, set here for both organ and voices by the late Sir David Willcocks. There is something on this disc for every season. It even features a track by our Patron of Music, John Rutter CBE, "The Lord Bless You and Keep You", and a beautiful setting of the school prayer, "Exalt Us in Your Love", specially composed by Will Todd for the tercentenary celebrations. We hope that you will enjoy listening to songs below as much as we all did recording it. O Thou, the Central Orb – Charles Wood Anthem for Seafarers – Malcolm Archer It Is a Thing Most Wonderful – Philip Moore O Come, O Come, Emmanuel – arr. Philip Ledger O Holy Night – Adolphe Adam arr. John Rutter Magnificat in G – Charles Villiers Stanford Exalt Us in Your Love – Will Todd Ave Verum – Philip Stopford Blessed Be the God and Father – Samuel Sebastian Wesley I Was Glad – Hubert Parry Praise – Dobrinka Tabakova The Lord Bless You and Keep You – John Rutter Sing! – Charles-Marie Widor arr.
